What type of experience do you have bringing products to market?

My whole life, I’ve been an entrepreneur. I’m obsessed with brands, customer experience and making the people in my life smile.

My career has been focused on bringing products to market; from pillows, to fragrances and handbags, and now, a blanket for sleep and relaxation.

Before creating Gravity, I founded a media company called The Good Ones, a product review site and web series where I test and try any and every brand I can get my hands on, and give honest recommendations to consumers. Find us here: http://goodones.tv/ and follow us here: @goodonestv.

Most recently I created the Sydney Rogers iPad tote bag:

I’ve also been involved in the development of various other products, including a pillow (still in development) and fragrance (under NDA). I hope this helps.

My ventures have been backed by some of the biggest entrepreneurs in the media and product world today, including Troy Carter and Gary Vaynerchuk, two of the top VC’s in the world.

With Gravity, I am also working with a team of people who have deep expertise in launching and building companies, including hitting the Inc. 500 list three separate times and successfully taking companies to IPO.

Who is the team behind Gravity?

Gravity’s team is led by John Fiorentino, a serial entrepreneur who has designed and brought several products to market that have achieved mainstream success, including handbags and fragrances. More information about John can be found above in the FAQ.

He is supported by a group of manufacturing, logistics, sales, marketing and PR professionals, who have worked with some of the biggest brands in the world.

Manufacturing: Because of the amount of orders the community has placed, we’re lucky enough to work with some of the biggest manufacturing partners in the world. These folks have shipped hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of units for some of the biggest brands in the world. Some of their annual contracts have been upwards of five billion USD; we have no doubt that they will deliver for us, and we will deliver for you.

Logistics: We’ve secured two US-based warehouses located on both costs to expedite shipping time and reduce costs to the greatest extent possible.

Sales, PR and Marketing: Gravity has enlisted the support of Futurism Labs, as well as other agency partners, who help small companies scale product awareness and distribution.

Futurism Labs founder Alex Klokus was originally listed as one of the project owners because he initially set up the Kickstarter campaign for Gravity, but we’ve corrected the project to properly reflect John Fiorentino as the owner of the campaign.

How are you managing stretch goals?

We are very actively looking into launching a queen sized version of Gravity. This comes with many new complications (weight distribution, sizing, etc), that impact the price and logistics, but we should have a final decision soon.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
